Coastal rollers, coast range climbs, meandering valley roads, plus ridge lines and redwoods makeup the classic rides of Sonoma’s West County. Whether you want routes that physically challenge you with the toughest climbs or inspire you with hidden coves and redwood sanctuaries, we’ll tailor the West Sonoma Classics trip just for you.
We recommend using Comova’s adventure cycling cottage, “Cazita,” as your base, but accommodations can be made in other parts of West County as well. Your routes will be personalized to wherever your starting location is.
This route makes a great “Queen Stage” for the ambitious riders wanting to punctuate their West Sonoma Classics trip with an epic ride.
From sweeping coastal views to redwood forests and from challenging climbs to pristine pavement, options abound. We’ll customize routes according to your terrain, distance, and other interests.
Small groups can stay at Cazita, Comova’s adventure cycling retreat with studio and/or private rooms. Designed with cyclists in mind, there’s bike storage in the adjacent barn, an optional outdoor shower, and hot tub. Other options include vacation rentals, motels and inns of the lower Russian River Valley.
The riding is remote and services are limited. Depending on the time of year, stores may be closed and the weather can change fast. Your pre-trip briefing will cover all the details to prepare you for the adventure.
